Easley man killed in two-car accident

EASLEY — An Easley man is dead following a two-vehicle accident in Easley on Monday.
Pickens County Coroner Kandy Kelley said that Robert Chance Conner, 36, of Earls Bridge Road, was killed when the Nissan Ultima he was riding in was involved in a collision at the intersection of S.C. 183 and Jim Hunt Road in Easley. Conner was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, troopers believe the car in which Conner was a passenger was traveling west on Jim Hunt Road while a truck involved in the accident was traveling south on S.C. 183. The collision occurred at 1:25 p.m.
The SCHP said the truck was driven by Brian Lane of Greenville, while the Ultima was driven by Jamie McAbee of Easley. Both drivers were taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital for treatment. The SCHP said none of the people involved in the accident were wearing a seat belt.
The accident is still under investigation by the SCHP.
