EASLEY — Easley’s Town Center continues to grow, providing the community with job opportunities and a variety of restaurants and retail shops.

This Thursday, March 7, Marshalls will hold its grand opening. The national chain joins neighboring stores Kohls, Academy Sports, Tractor Supply, Petsmart, and of course, the Walmart Super Center which was the first retailer to open in the shopping plaza in 2011.

Once completed, the project will contain more than 500,000 square feet of retail including local, regional and national tenants, according to the website for Cedarwood Development — the company responsible for Easley’s Town Center and similar centers nationally.

Easley city administrator Fox Simons said Cedarwood is in charge of recruiting business for the Town Center.

Construction continues as the Town Center prepares for the next major retailer to join the ranks.

A Sam’s Club — complete with a gas station — should be complete by the end of June, Simons said. The administrator estimated that Sam’s will create approximately 125 new jobs in Easley.

While Simons said that he couldn’t comment on what stores or eateries might join the Town Center in the future, there has been talk of the possibility of a large multi-family complex and office park.
