EASLEY — For the first 65 minutes of its match with Berea last Tuesday, the Easley Green Wave boys’ soccer team seemed likely to keep its hold atop Region I-4A.

That is until a controversial penalty kick tied things at 1-1 and swung the momentum in favor of the Bulldogs.

Easley did its best to hold out and make chances over the final 14 minutes, but struggled to regain control, and the game looked destined for overtime as Berea prepared for a corner kick a little more than three
