Hagood 2nd-graders tour city of Pickens

On Tuesday, Nov. 14, second-grade students in the classes of Mrs. Tammie Alexander, Mrs. Amy Breazeale, Mrs. Megan Jackson and Mrs. Tracey Lance at Hagood Elementary took part in a walking tour of Pickens to conclude their social studies unit on community. The students took part in a mock trial and learned about how courts uphold laws at the Pickens County Courthouse, with help from Circuit Court Judge Perry Gravely, Family Court Judge Tarita Dunbar and the Solicitor’s Office. After that, they enjoyed lunch at The Gatehouse restaurant and had tours of the Pickens Post Office, Pickens Fire Department, City Hall and Bivens Hardware. Students met many people who help make Pickens a great place to live, work and learn.
