Hagood Mill receives Bundy award

PICKENS — Hagood Mill was awarded the prestigious Bundy Award by the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism during the 46th annual Governor’s Conference on Tourism and Travel on Tuesday, February 22.

The Bundy award recognizes contributions to rural tourism and was given for the Third Saturday events held monthly at Hagood Mill. Each year, tens of thousands of guests enjoy the monthly activities at the mill, including bluegrass music, storytelling, Native American history, crafts and the art of corn and wheat grinding.

“This award speaks volumes for the work of our employees and volunteers, who have continued to make Hagood Mill a focal destination point in Pickens County,” said Chap Hurst, Pickens County Administrator. “This award reinforces our commitment to tourism and travel in Pickens County.”
This is the first year Pickens County has been named winner of the Bundy Award.
