LIBERTY — Liberty Idol will begin its sixth Season on April 30, continuing until July 2 on Saturday evenings from 7-10 p.m. in the gazebo in downtown Liberty.

The lone exception will be the fourth (semifinal) round, to be held Friday, July 1.
There are many exciting changes this year, including the possibility of a nationally recognized celebrity judge.

Auditions for Liberty Idol are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. on April 2, 9 and 16 at the Rosewood Center

located on Hwy 93 in Liberty. Each auditioning contestant is required to perform a 20-30 second a capella piece for the deciding panel of judges.

64 contestants will compete in a total of five rounds of competition for cash prizes in the following amounts: First Place – $2,500; Second Place – $1,250; Third Place – $1000; Fourth Place – $750; Fifth Place – $500.

One new component to this year’s Liberty Idol is TV viewing audience votes. Each performance will be filmed on Saturday and air the following Wednesday. For the first, second and third rounds, the live audience will vote for their favorite performers, then the TV viewing audience will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite contestants.
There are no fees to compete in Liberty Idol, and performances are also free to the public. For complete contest rules and more information, please contact Roy Costner at (864) 843-3139.
