Inaugural Clemson Kick-off for a Cure planned for Oct. 5

CLEMSON — Tickets are now on sale for the inaugural Clemson Kick-off for a Cure event, to be held at Littlejohn Coliseum during the Oct. 5 Clemson football game at Syracuse.

In its inaugural year, Clemson Kick-off for a Cure will support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and combine two of the Tiger Nation’s favorite pastimes: food and football. The event will be held October 5th at The Littlejohn Coliseum Stadium during the Clemson Tigers vs. Syracuse Orangemen football game. All proceeds to benefit research and care for cystic fibrosis patients.

Tickets are $55 and include beer and wine in addition to all-you-can-eat food provided by several of Clemson’s favorite local restaurants. A silent auction and other entertainment will be held. J. Dew, voice of Greenville Drive Baseball, will emcee and Basketball Coach Brownell will be a guest of honor.

This event is possible due to our generous sponsors. Event sponsors receive several benefits including preferred seating for company guests, company name/logo advertised in printed materials, and other event publicity. This year’s sponsors include Propel HR, Aptalis, Godshall Professional Recruiting & Staffing, Fort Hill Family Dentistry, Ivy’s League, and several others who look forward to the event.

Cystic fibrosis [CF] is a genetic disease that affects approximately 30,000 children and adults in the US. CF causes the body to produce abnormally thick, sticky mucus that clogs the lungs and can lead to life-threatening lung infections. The CF mucus also obstructs the pancreas, interfering with digestion. There is currently no cure for CF and the median life expectancy is 37.4 years of age.

The CF Foundation creates and funds innovative research and provides specialized medical care to improve the length and quality of life for people living with CF. The Foundation depends on public support to carry out its life-saving programs, which in recent years have made significant medical advancements.

So, join us for a fun-filled evening full of football and tailgate treats all to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Your contribution will make a difference.
