PICKENS — The Pickens High School Lady Blue Flame volleyball team defeated region opponents Travelers Rest and Westside last week to sweep the region and become region champs.

Pickens also downed two-time Class 3A state champion Powdersville on Saturday.

“What an exciting week it has been for the Lady Blue Flame,” Pickens assistant coach Pamela Clarkson said. “Our young ladies ended the week with a sweep of the region, as they have gone 8-0.
