Liberty celebrates 150 years with music, treats, community spirit

LIBERTY — The city of Liberty marked a major milestone recently as residents gathered to celebrate the town’s 150th anniversary  which was March 2, 2026, with an afternoon full of music, food and family-friendly activities.

The celebration brought together community members, council members,  city staffand volunteers for a festive tribute to Liberty’s long and proud history. With support from Flat Rock Church and participation from many members of the city and its staff, the event highlighted the strong sense of community that has defined Liberty for generations.

Live music from the Roadhouse Rodeo Band set the tone for the festivities and kept everyone entertained throughout the celebration. Families and friends enjoyed sweet treats from Pendleton Candy Company while mingling and taking part in the day’sactivities.

Food trucks offered a variety of meal options outside of the venue, and outdoor games provided entertainment for guests of all ages, creating a welcoming atmosphere for the many residents who came out to celebrate the milestone.

As part of the festivities, a “What Does Liberty Mean to You” art exhibit was held.  Entries were received from the Liberty schools, as well as local artists.

The event was an opportunity for the community to reflect on Liberty’s rich history while celebrating the people and partnerships that continue to shape its future.
