Lions crush Wren to advance to 3A state championship game

CENTRAL — Three years ago, Daniel head coach Jeff Fruster experienced a nightmare season.

In his second year at the helm in 2017, the Lions posted a highly disappointing 2-9 record and faced tempered expectations in the seasons ahead. Those tempered expectations seem foolish now, as the newly minted Upper State champion Lions have an opportunity to cap off an incredible 31-3 three-year run with a state title after Friday’s 39-6 win over the Wren Hurricanes.
