Markley signs with Southern Wesleyan
LIBERTY — Liberty High School softball standout Sarah Beth Markley has signed an athletic grant-in-aid to continue her athletic career at Southern Wesleyan University.[cointent_lockedcontent]
Markley has been a part of the Liberty softball program since seventh grade and has competed for the school’s varsity team since she was in the eighth grade. She is also part of the Lady Devil competition and support cheer teams, as well as basketball.
In softball, Markley hit .391 with 12 runs scored while driving in 11 runs as a sophomore. As a junior, she hit .370 with 17 runs scored, while driving in 11. She has three career home runs.
“Sarah Beth is a very hard worker and a joy to have on the team,” Liberty softball coach Brian Fuller said. “She is always willing to do what is asked of her and play her role as a team player on the field. Sarah has yet to reach her full softball potential and is going to be a great asset to the SWU softball program.”
