PICKENS — A Belton man was killed after his vehicle struck a utility building being hauled on a trailer near Pickens on Monday morning.

Stacy Dean Searcy, 39, was driving north on Moorefield Memorial Highway when he crossed the centerline, hit the building and lost control of his vehicle, which overturned, according to Pickens County coroner Kandy Kelley.

Kelley said Searcy was not wearing a seatbelt but was not ejected from his vehicle.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, Kelley said.
