COUNTY — Friends of Pickens County Guardian ad Litem has been providing financial assistance since 2002 to neglected and abused children of Pickens County and the Guardian ad Litem Program of Pickens County. Annually our program touches the lives of these children through annual Heart and Sole Back to School Shopping day, Annual Spring Fling (a fun carefree day for the children), clothes closet (new clothes) at Pickens County DSS office (for children coming in to custody), camps, tutoring, medical assistance, training and support of Guardian ad Litem volunteers and many other requests that are not covered through state programs.

The 2014 Heart & Sole date is Thursday, August 7 at Belk’s and Rack Room Shoes in Easley. Approximate 150 children in foster and treatment services of Pickens County DSS will participate.

Our significant 2014 fundraising event for Friends of Pickens County Guardian ad Litem is our first in what will be an annual Clusters for Kids Oyster Roast. The Clusters for Kids Oyster Roast will be held Saturday, November 1 from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., at Arran Farm home of Daniel and Janice Lee, 820 Lenhardt Road, Easley, SC. Senator Larry Martin is serving as Honorary Chair of the 2014 Clusters for Kids Oyster Roast.

The evening will include oysters and dinner buffet, along with beer and wine, music, silent auction, corn hole competitions and more! Ticket prices will be $50 per person for advance tickets ($90 for couples) and a limited number of at the door tickets will be available for $75 per person. Sponsors receive guaranteed tickets for the event!
