Daniel tennis falls in state title match

CENTRAL — The winner of the last two Class 3A Upper State championships, the Daniel High School boys’ tennis team took on Clinton on Wednesday looking for a three-peat.

The Lions accomplished their goal, downing the Red Devils 5-1 in a showcase of their depth and talent as they advanced to this weekend’s State championship.

Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive planned for Saturday

COUNTY — This Saturday, May 11, will mark the 32nd anniversary of one of America’s great days of giving — the National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.

Letter carriers walk through the community every day, often coming face to face with a sad reality for too many — hunger.

So, each year on the second Saturday in May, letter carriers across the country collect nonperishable food donations from customers. The donations go directly to
