PICKENS — Mr. Alfred Earl Webb Jr., 70, passed peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 24, 2022.

‘Christmas at the Barn’ event set for Dec. 11

MARIETTA — On Sunday, Dec. 11, Happy Hooves Therapeutic Equestrian Center will be hosting its 19th annual “Christmas at the Barn” fundraising event at Eden Farms, located at 4700 Dacusville Highway in Marietta. The event will run from 2-5 pm.

Pickens Christmas parade grand marshals announced

 

PICKENS — The Greater Pickens Chamber of Commerce will present the annual Pickens Christmas parade this Friday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. in downtown Pickens.

This year’s theme is “A Dickens Christmas.”

For those who cannot attend in person, the parade will be livestreamed on the city of Pickens’ Facebook page.

The chamber has announced that there will be two grand marshals for this year’s parade.

The first is Mable Owens Clarke who was recently awarded the Order of the Palmetto for her diligent work over the past two decades to save historic Soapstone Baptist Church.

The second grand marshal is the Pickens High School girls’ golf team, which won the Class 4A state championship this year.

The city of Pickens will continue their holiday celebrartions this Friday, with the community coming alive for the annual Christmas parade at 7 p.m. in downtown Pickens. The recipes this week are for a variety of coffee drinks. They’re all different, all good, and all easy. Why spend a fortune buying designer coffee drinks when you can make your own at home, save money and have as many refills as your system can stand?

Not everybody likes coffee. Or at least think they don’t like it. That usually means they started out tasting really bad coffee. I suggest you give it a second chance.
