New exploitation charges filed against Easley man

EASLEY — An Easley man already in custody now faces new charges of child abuse.

South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced the new charges against 35-year-old Carl Lee Robert Price on Thursday.

Price was arrested on 10 charges connected to the sexual exploitation of a minor, Wilson said in a release. He was already in custody on similar charges from 2022 when he was charged with the new counts on March 1, Wilson said.

Central honors soldier, 22, after tragic death

CENTRAL — The town of Central showed up to honor and bid farewell to 22-year-old U.S. Army National Guard Spc. Jacob Eric Bright on Feb. 28.

A Central resident and 2019 Daniel High School graduate, Bright was on his way home on a weekend pass for his grandfather’s funeral when he was involved in a car accident on Feb. 17. He died the following day.

EASLEY — An Easley elementary school has been selected as a finalist for a prestigious national award.

Group of residents opposes potential Easley addition

EASLEY — A group of residents in the Sheriff Mill Road area are hoping to convince Easley City Council members to vote down a proposed annexation.

Kelsey Crooks has lived in the area for 30 years.
