County Council amends budget ahead of vote

PICKENS — Pickens County Council met this week to discuss its fiscal year 2025-26 budget ahead of its final vote next month.

More indicted in drug investigation

STATE — More defendants have been indicted on charges that include trafficking fentanyl as a result of a multi-year, multi-county state grand Jury investigation known as “Devil in Disguise,” South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced last week.

Pickens County unemployment sees April rise

COLUMBIA — The unemployment rate in Pickens County saw a slight increase during the latest jobs report released last week.
