Humane Society hits fundraising goal

EASLEY — The Pickens County Humane Society has raised enough money to keep it open until the end of the year.
Last week, PCHS officials were uncertain if the organization would be able to remain open.
The society hosted a luncheon in Easley Wednesday and gave attendees an update on its outlook.
“Hopefully, we’ll have many more, with your love and support of the animals,” Pree Hamilton said of the luncheon. “We strive to succeed.”

COLUMBIA — A Liberty man faces 11 charges connected to the sexual exploitation of a minor, South Carolina
Attorney General Alan Wilson announced Friday.

PICKENS — Election time is here in Pickens County, and for the cities of Easley and Pickens, Tuesday’s voting will

EASLEY — Pickens County School Board trustees announced Monday night they are delaying a vote on a 2020-21
school calendar with an early starting date of Aug. 4 to hear more input from the community.
“We just wanted to kind of put the brakes on it a little bit and listen and collect opinions to make sure everybody’s heard before we move quickly into this,” chairman Brian Swords said.

Deputies involved in deadly shooting returned to duty
