Santana Jackson to headline AWL Memorial show, Saturday
PICKENS — Wrestling fans are in for a high-energy night of entertainment this Saturday, June 6, as the American Wrestling League brings its topflight production with all the elements of the major wresting promotions back to the Market at the Mill Event Center for its fourth annual Norton Lewis Memorial Show.
The event will feature a full lineup of top independent wrestling talent, a special Las Vegas-style performance on the stage, and the return of one of the Southeast’s most legendary tag teams.
A major highlight of the evening will be a special appearance by Santana Jackson, a world-renowned Michael Jackson tribute artist from Harrah’s Casino in Las Vegas. Jackson will perform his acclaimed stage show for the first time outside of Las Vegas, bringing a unique entertainment element to the Pickens crowd.
The AWL has billed this year’s memorial event as its biggest show of 2026, promising a night of hard-hitting action and family-friendly excitement. Several marquee matches are scheduled, including the inaugural Norton Lewis Memorial Battle Royal, featuring Xander Cage, P.J. Ellis, Sean Cruise, Ken Magnum, Savion and Jax N. Saine, plus many others.
AWL Champion Don Furio will defend his title against Bryce Maddox, while Furio’s tag team partner Chris Valo, collectively known as The Standard, will take on Corey Sparks. Additional matches include Ken Magnum vs. Sean Cruise and a Pickens County Street Fight between Saint Julious and Buggy Wright. The popular tag team The Soul Patrol (Deon Johnson and Antonio Morgan) is also set to return.
For local fans, one of the most anticipated moments of the night will be the return of The Confederates — Roc Rowland and Billy Starr — a team with deep roots in Pickens County and a storied history across the Southeast. While Billy Starr grew up in Seneca, he lived many years in Pickens and Roc Rowland is better known to many as Rocky Nimmons, the publisher and owner of the Pickens County Courier. Nimmons has more than 43 years in Pickens County journalism.
The duo, who main-evented the Greenville Memorial Auditorium many times in the early 1990s, will step into a Pickens ring for the first time in 23 years. Their last appearance in Pickens County came when they captured the IWA Tag Team Championships inside a steel cage. Since reuniting for their “One More Run Tour” last year, the team has compiled an impressive 12-1 record. The duo will be in the battle royal as well. A meet and greet will be held prior to the event, offering fans the chance to take professional photos with Santana Jackson and purchase special edition event T-shirts and posters.
The Confederates will also participate, with merchandise and autographed photos available. Wrestler tables will be set up throughout the venue, and the canteen will be open for the kid-friendly event.
Event Schedule: • VIP entry: 5:30 p.m. • Reserved & General Admission gates: 6 p.m. • Show time: 7 p.m.
General admission tickets are $10 at the door, and children 12 and under are admitted free with a paying adult. VIP seating and Rows 1, 2 and 3 are sold out, but remaining seats can be purchased at buytickets.at/awl.
