Swinney, Tigers primed for another successful year after wild offseason

CLEMSON — The college football landscape is almost unrecognizable from when the Clemson football team last took the field.

Student-athletes can now profit from their name, image and likeness, Texas and Oklahoma are joining the SEC, and most recently, the ACC, Big Ten and Pac-12 have formed an alliance with ambiguous goals and consequences.

The Tigers have undergone plenty of changes, too. When Clemson’s 2020 season ended in disappointing fashion on New Year’s Day — losing 49-28 to Ohio State in the Sugar Bowl — two all-time greats were holding down the backfield.
