World War II vet Zig Boroughs to hold book signing this Saturday

PICKENS — Life-long Pickens resident and World War II veteran Zig Boroughs will be on hand for a signing of his latest book, “The 508th Connection,” on Saturday at Nestfeathers in Pickens.

As a member of the Enlisted Reserve Corps at the Citadel, Boroughs witnessed a demonstration parachute jump by airborne soldiers. When inducted into the army, Boroughs immediately volunteered for the paratroopers.

The book is Boroughs’ third published, along with “A Private’s Eye View of World War II,” in 1989, and “The Devil’s Tale,” in 1992.

Everyone is invited to meet Boroughs and hear about his life and tales of his experience in World War II.

The event will be held from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Nestfeathers is located at 104 South Catherine St. in Pickens. For more information and to reserve your copy of Boroughs book, call (864) 878-4060.
