PCSO: Man who died after chase suspected in Liberty man’s killing

COUNTY — Authorities say a Pickens man who died of a self-inflicted gunshot after a high-speed chase that ended in a 
crash in Clemson last week was a suspect in the shooting death of a Liberty man whose body was found in Pickens on Sunday.
According to the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office, 68-year-old Steve Crawford Whitmire went missing on Wednesday, May 14. Whitmire’s remains were found in a wooded area about 30 feet off the roadway Massingill Memorial Drive on Sunday evening, and a PCSO news release issued Tuesday

Semper Fi Barn to host Memorial Day service
SIX MILE — The Semper Fi Barn, a sanctuary dedicated to honoring military veterans,will host a Memorial Day church service at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 25, to pay tribute to those who have died in service to the United States.
Pastor James Williams of Kings Grove Baptist Church in Six Mile will lead the service, which will honor the 1.3 million American service members who have died in wartime, as well as the 85,000 who remain missing.

Motorcycle wreck kills Easley man

PICKENS — An Easley man died last week after a motorcycle crash in Pickens.
Pickens County Coroner Andrew Wilson identified the victim as 27-year-old Cody Ryan Crenshaw.
