Pickens man charged with exploitation

COUNTY — A Pickens man has been arrested on a charge connected to the sexual exploitation of minors, South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced last 
week.
Aaron Clark Chapman, 39, of Pickens was arrested on July 22, Wilson said in a July 23 release.
Chapman is charged with one count of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, a felony offense

Man charged with meth distribution

COUNTY — A local man faces multiple methamphetamine-related charges following a 
Pickens County Sheriff’s Office investigation.
A news release issued Saturday said agents with the sheriff’s office’s Special Operations Unit conducted an undercover investigation in the Pickens area.

Liberty man sentenced for abusing minor

ANDERSON — A Liberty man was sentenced earlier this month after pleading guilty to 
criminal sexual conduct with a minor.
In a July 18 release, 10th Circuit Solicitor Micah E. Black said Donavan Jessie Austin Jr, 33, had seen scheduled to go to trial in September.
