Six Mile Baptist Church will host the 15th annual “Feast-o-Plenty” from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19.

On Saturday, Oct. 22, people gathered with their dogs to help cut the ribbon on Pickens’ newest pet supply store, Savvi Pet Accessories. The new store is located at 129 W. Main St. Owner Laci Roper creates custom collars, leashes and tags. She has a wide variety of pet supplies for cats and dogs, such as toys, treats, clothes, accessories and more. PICKENS — Porter’s Chapel will host a 190th anniversary celebration this Saturday, Nov. 5 featuring a yard sale, bake sale, holiday bazaar, hot dog plates and gospel singing. The event will begin at 8 a.m. and run until everything is sold.

Residents have chance to dispose of old prescription pills Saturday 

COUNTY — An upcoming event will give Pickens County residents an opportunity to get rid of unwanted, unneeded and expired prescription pills.

The Drug Enforcement Administration sponsors two National Pill Take Back Days every year, in April and October.

The fall 2022 National Pill Take Back Day will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 29.

ARC names Allison Fowler Leadership Institute Fellow
