Man charged with driving stolen vehicle

PICKENS — A man was arrested in Pickens on Tuesday after police allege he stole a truck in Anderson County and fled officers in Pickens County.
Kyle Bruce Parris is being charged locally with possession of a stolen vehicle, a second offense of failure to stop for blue lights and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, according to a release from Pickens Police Chief Randal Beach. The Anderson

Liberty man killed in head-on collision

LIBERTY — A Liberty man died Thursday after a two-vehicle collision.
Pickens County deputy coroner Tommy Page identified the victim as Jonathan James Hall of Roanoke Ridge in Liberty.

Nonprofit seeking warm items for elderly
COUNTY — A local nonprofit aims to help area senior citizens stay warm as cool weather arrives and is also looking ahead to Christmas.

Semper Fi Barn hosting final group event of year to honor fallen Marines
CENTRAL — The Semper Fi Barn will be hosting its final group event of the year this Sunday at 6 p.m.

Pickens County is ready to celebrate the spooky season, with events planned around the area throughout the rest of the month.

Easley will host the county’s next event from 6:30-8:30 p.m. this Friday, Oct. 27, at Old Market Square.
