In the state of South Carolina, trespass after notice is a misdemeanor criminal offense prohibited by section 16-11-620 for the South Carolina Code.

Authorities investigating man’s killing

LIBERTY — The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office and the Pickens County Coroner’s Office have launched a homicide investigation after a Piedmont man’s body was found in Liberty.
According to a release from PCSO Chief Deputy Chad Brooks, the man’s body was found Sunday night in the yard of a home on Stewart Gin Road.

Blankets donated to residents at Easley Place, MasterCare
EASLEY — In 2013, Pickens County Sheriff’s Office Patty Looper and her family visited her maternal grandmother Tressie Ragsdale for a normal Christmas visit at a local assisted-living facility, gifting her a large throw blanket.
According to Looper, one of the ladies who was a resident next door to Ragsdale asked in a sweet but bold manner where her blanket was

Man gets life in prison for 2020 murder

PICKENS — A Liberty man has been sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to the murder of an elderly Liberty woman.
The body of 89-year-old Margaret Alice Karr was found in her Mills Avenue home on Sunday, April 12, 2020.

COUNTY — Two men face drug charges following arrests by the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office’s Community Action Team.

Thomas Alexander elected SC Senate president

COLUMBIA — An Oconee County native who also represents a portion of Pickens County is now the elected leader of the South Carolina State Senate.
State Sen. Thomas Alexander of Walhalla was unanimously elected Senate president during a special meeting Monday afternoon.
