Daniel boys dominate Bulldogs

CENTRAL — Coming off a heartbreaking region loss to Wren, the Daniel High School boys’ basketball team responded with a whistle-to-whistle 65-37 pounding of Pendleton last week.

“This group is a resilient group that bounces back quickly,” Daniel head coach Ben Touchberry said after the Jan. 25 game. “They showed a relentless pursuit defensively, and it generated a lot of easy opportunities on the offensive end.”

The Lions’ bounceback was fronted by star point guard Bobby Taylor, who said his mentality was to go for the throat coming off the close loss to Wren.

Taylor did just that, putting up 23 points on a variety of looks, including four three-pointers as he led the Lions in scoring.
