Creek Jewels & Gems owners Theresa and Johnny Dye celebrated the grand opening of their new gem mining sluice with a ribbon cutting on Oct. 3. Family, friends, city officials and customers joined them at the shop, located at 317 E. Main St. in Pickens. Visitors can sift mining buckets for gems and fossils. The store also offers clothing, jewelry, candles, soaps, crystals and gifts.
