Lion girls hold off Pendleton rally

CENTRAL — After taking a 6-4 lead midway through the first quarter, the Daniel High School girls’ basketball team never trailed again against Pendleton last week, and despite it being a little too close for comfort at the end, Daniel head coach Cosandar Griffin was proud of her team’s fight in the 47-43 win.

“I’m just proud of the way the girls came out and fought today,” Griffin said after the Jan. 25 game. “We’ve been battling adversity, and I was glad to see they stepped up for the challenge today.”
