Man charged with bomb threat

Accused claimed the call was made as a “prank”

LIBERTY — A 25-year-old man has been charged after allegedly calling in a bomb threat against a Liberty business.

The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a possible bomb threat to Imperial Die Casting at 1:30pm Thursday, June 8, according to a release from Chief Deputy Chuck James.

Imperial Die Casting is a manufacturing plant located at 2249 Old Liberty Road.

County to hold dedication ceremony for LEC in honor of C. David Stone

PICKENS — Pickens County administrator Ken Roper said a formal ceremony to celebrate the renaming of the county’s law enforcement center in memory of longtime sheriff David Stone will happen in August after recent criticism from a former elected official.

Easley teen killed in traffic accident

EASLEY — A 17-year-old from Easley died Tuesday following a two-vehicle collision.

Pickens County Chief Deputy Coroner Andrew Wilson identified the victim as Elijah Hunter, 17, of Sequoia Court, Easley.

Pickens set to host Independence Day celebration on July 1

PICKENS — Pickens residents are asked to mark their calendars and join together for the City of Pickens’ Independence Day Spectacular at the Pickens Amphitheater on Saturday, July 1, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
