  • Fleet Reserve hosts meeting on June 17

 

Fleet Reserve Association, Branch 015, will meet at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 17 for breakfast followed by a business meeting at 9 a.m. The meeting will be at Chicopee United Methodist Church, 403 S. Catherine St., Walhalla. It is open to all  enlisted former and active duty U.S. Navy, U. S.   • Veterans invited to American Legion

 

Veterans in the Liberty area are invited to the next meeting of American Legion Post 67 in Liberty. The Legion meets on the third Monday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Scout Hut, circle off North Palmetto Street. All veterans are invited.

 

  • Fishing equipment available at library

 

Want to go fishing this summer, but have no equipment? Visit the Village Library in Pickens. The branch now has added fishing rods and tackle boxes to its Library of Things through the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources Fishing Tackle Loaner Program. These items are only available at the Pickens branch of the library system and will need to be returned there as well. They can be checked out for seven days — all you need is your Pickens County Library card. Call (864) 898-5747 for more information or stop by the Village Library to check them out. Borrow the equipment, keep the memories.

The Village Branch Library is located at 124 N. Catherine St. in Pickens.
