Liberty residents protest city budget

LIBERTY – Concerned residents in and around Liberty held a protest before Liberty City Council’s regular session Monday night.

Easley man dies after Hwy. 123 traffic accident

EASLEY – An Easley man died Saturday after a motor vehicle accident on Highway 123.

Pickens County Chief Deputy Coroner Andrew Wilson identified the victim as Lemuel Owen Smith, 67, of 505 W. 2nd Avenue, Easley.

Planning Commission denies RV park application

COUNTY – The Pickens County Planning Commission voted Monday to deny an application for a 25-site RV Park on Mile Creek Road.

The commission had previously denied the land use approval application in March.

Pickens County Planning Director Trad Julian said the 6-acre site is served by Mile Creek Road, Love and Care Road and Mountain View Church Road.

“This proposal meets all the USDO standards,” he said.

The proposal has also received cursory approval
