PHS class of 1976 to hold 50-year reunion

PICKENS — The Pickens High School Class of 1976 will host its 50th class reunion from noon-5 p.m. May 9 at the Hagood Mill Pavilion.

The Hagood Mill Pavilion is located at 129 Hagood Mill Road in Pickens.

Barbecue, macaroni and cheese, and slaw will be provided. Those attending are asked to bring a side dish or dessert. Tea and water will also be provided.

The Traveling Tap, a local beer truck, will be on hand selling beer and wine. A professional photographer will also be available to take a commemorative PHS 50th anniversary class photo for only $20.

The event will be $40 per person after April 1.

Pickens Chamber holds annual awards banquet

PICKENS — The Greater Pickens Chamber of Commerce held its annual awards banquet on Thursday, March 26, at Tavern 53 inside the Pickens Golf Club, bringing together chamber members, business owners, and community leaders for an evening of recognition and fellowship.

The banquet offered attendees the chance to enjoy a night out, network with fellow professionals, and celebrate the presentation of the chamber’s annual awards.

Each year, the highlight of the event is the presentation of the Duke Energy Citizenship Award, one of the chamber’s most distinguished honors. This year’s award was

Pickens man convicted on drug charges

PICKENS — A Pickens man was sentenced to 18 years in prison after being found guilty last week on multiple charges, including drug trafficking.

Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor Cindy Crick announced the conviction of Sheridan Terrell Littlejohn in a release issued March 27.

Woman struck, killed crossing highway

EASLEY — An Easley woman died Saturday after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Gentry Memorial Highway.

Pickens County Coroner Andrew Wilson identified the victim as Adela Aguilar, 49, of Easley.

The collision occurred at 2:15 p.m. Saturday, March 28
