Culler named as Daniel principal

Mind on marinara and macroeconomics

I was driving over to the Olive Garden in Greenville the other day, because somebody at our house thinks there’s something really special about their marinara sauce.

Quick and easy kiwi fare

Kiwi fruit can be found in almost every grocery store, but they are still fairly new to American markets. Originally called Chinese Gooseberries, the egg-shaped fruits were renamed when exported to the U.S.

They can be grown in the South Carolina lowcountry and have their own unique flavor.

Some think they taste like a combination of strawberries and bananas, but we’ll leave it up to you and your taste buds to decide.

The recipes featured this week are long on taste and short on preparation, so they should fit right into summer days.

CFA comes to Pickens

On Monday, June 6, “Baby Cow” cut the ribbon on the Upstate Chick-fil-A food truck. The grand opening was held in Doodle Park at 409 E. Cedar Rock St. in Pickens. The food truck will be moving around to various locations in Pickens two to three days a week. COUNTY — Pickens County voters returned to the polls on Tuesday for the midterm primary election to decide which candidates will be on the ballots for the Nov. 8 general election.

Voter turnout was way down in Pickens County, with 15 percent of registered voters casting ballots on Tuesday, compared to 28 percent during the 2020 primary and 21 percent in the 2018 primary.
