SLED: Woman worked as nurse with no license
EASLEY — A Piedmont woman is charged with using another person’s credentials to practice as a registered nurse in Easley without a license, among other charges.
South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) agents arrested 48-year-old Kimberly Faye Campbell on Nov. 15, according to a release from SLED public 
information director Renée Wunderlich.
Campbell was arrested in Anderson, Pickens and Greenville Counties that day and is charged with three counts each of

Reviewed book avoids ban in county schools

PICKENS — Students in the School District of Pickens County can now check out a book that generated recent controversy, but only if a parent or guardian signs off 
for it.
After last week’s vote by the Pickens County School Board, “Dear Martin” can be checked out from media centers and classrooms after it was contested by a parent in early October.

Humane Society, animals in need of community’s help

LIBERTY — The community’s support is needed to help the Pickens County Humane Society continue helping animals.

CLEMSON — As college football’s championship weekend came to a close, hundreds of players around the nation announced their intentions to look for greener pastures as the NCAA’s transfer portal officially opened on Monday.

Police investigate wreck that claimed Six Mile man’s life
CLEMSON — The investigation into a two-vehicle crash that killed a 69-year-old Six Mile man early last week is still ongoing.
Pickens County Coroner Kandy Kelley identified the man who died as Myron “Reese” Davis, of Oak Grove Road in Six Mile. Kelley said he died at the scene from blunt force trauma.
Clemson Police Chief Jorge Campos said the incident happened around 6:30 a.m. Nov. 28 at the intersection of U.S. Highway 76 and College Avenue.
The preliminary investigation showed a red Subaru was traveling north on College Avenue and “collided with a black Toyota truck as it came through the intersection,” according to Campos. He added the Subaru hit a concrete wall before running into an embankment and overturning.
Campos said the case remains under investigation.
