Heidi’s Heroes

Members of the Central, Easley and Pickens Police departments, as well as the Pickens County Sheriff’s offices took orders and served lunch at Heidi’s Hotdogs in Pickens on Monday to raise money for Rolling into Toys, a fundraiser to help purchase toys, socks, coats and shoes for children in Pickens County Schools who need assistance with Christmas. Liberty skunk tests positive for rabies

LIBERTY — A skunk found in Liberty tested positive for rabies last week, according to the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control.

The skunk was found near Whitmire Hill and Gilstrap roads, according to a DHEC release issued Friday.

Green Wave announce 2023 Athletic Hall of Fame class

EASLEY — Easley High School will honor its 2023 athletic Hall of Fame class next month.

Three former Green Wave athletes have been selected to join the Easley High Athletic Hall of Fame — Danny Cobb, CJ Fuller and Haleigh Smith.

The inductees will be honored in the EHS cafeteria on Oct. 6 at 6 p.m. prior to the Green Wave’s football game against Greenwood at Bill Carr Stadium. There will be a dinner held for inductees and any past Hall of Fame members.
