On Saturday, Oct. 22, people gathered with their dogs to help cut the ribbon on Pickens’ newest pet supply store, Savvi Pet Accessories. The new store is located at 129 W. Main St. Owner Laci Roper creates custom collars, leashes and tags. She has a wide variety of pet supplies for cats and dogs, such as toys, treats, clothes, accessories and more. Historic Soapstone Baptist Church and grounds permanently protected

SLED looking at deadly officer-involved shooting

EASLEY — State authorities are investigating after a carjacking suspect was shot to death in an incident involving local law enforcement last 
week in Easley.
